Sitting down with Thornetta Davis, the Detroit Queen of the Blues, was enlightening and entertaining.
Thornetta Davis talked about how it all got started and how she got bitten by the music bug, her inspiration Phyllis Hyman and all the great blues artists she learned from.
With no formal training, she learned by singing along with the blues classics.
We also learned about the song that makes her cry, about getting “famous,” and most of all about never giving up. Check out the full Behind The Mic interview above.
